World Water Day, held on 22 March every year since 1993, celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2 billion people living without access to safe water in the world.

WHAT IS WORLD WATER DAY?

World Water Day is celebrated on 22-March every year. It is an annual United Nations Observance, that was started in 1993, that celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people currently living without access to safe water. 

A core focus of World Water Day is to inspire action toward Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.

On 22 March, World Water Day is celebrated all over the World. It is an annual United Nations Observance, started in 1993, that celebrates water and raises awareness for the 2- billion people who cannot access the safe water to drink and other daily uses.

Water is an essential part of our life nobody can live without water, not the human but animals have also required the good quality of water to survive on the earth this is a very big problem nowadays the groundwater quality is also very bad all the people using the groundwater without limit the groundwater pollution is also increasing if we cannot think to stop this in future we have a big problem for drinking water so we need to aware of this problem then our next generation will face big issue regarding the water.

Water awareness is very important we need to our children how to use water in Limited quantities don't waste the water. For this purpose, World Water Day is celebrated on 22nd March every year in the Word.

Water on the earth:

We are all aware that about 71% of Earth's surface is covered by water and approx 29% of the earth's surface is covered by land.

Stages of water on the earth:

Three water stages are found on earth solid stage, liquid stage, and gaseous stage.

The water cycle runs uninterrupted in nature to supply, water all over the earth.

The rivers are part of the water cycle as we see major cities are developed on the bank of the rivers.

The river supplies good quality of water in all over the year they give non-stop supply but nowadays we are dirty our rivers the water quality is also very bad you cannot drink direct water from the river you need to filter, voter awareness is very important to every human to understand the importance of water so I request you please don't dump the waste in Reverse and use the water as you required.

Humanity’s demand for water is growing. Pressure on water resources is increasing due to overuse, pollution, and climate change. Droughts and heatwaves are becoming more intense and more frequent. Sea-level rise is driving salt-water intrusion into coastal aquifers. Groundwater aquifers are being depleted.

Water can be a source of conflict but also of cooperation. It is essential that we work together to provide better stewardship of all water sources, including the world’s supply of groundwater. Groundwater is out of sight, but we cannot afford for it to be out of mind. Stored in rocks and soil, groundwater is our biggest source of liquid freshwater. It sustains drinking water supplies, sanitation systems, farming, industry, and ecosystems. Yet, some 20 percent of the world’s aquifers are being overexploited.

In many places, we simply do not know how much of this precious resource might exist. We need to improve our exploration, monitoring, and analysis of groundwater resources to protect and better manage them and help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Next year’s United Nations Water Conference provides a decisive opportunity to galvanize action on the water for sustainable development. On this World Water Day, let us commit to intensifying collaboration among sectors and across borders so we can sustainably balance the needs of people and nature and harness groundwater for current and future generations.
